In their own words

I owned my Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI PD170 S-Line FWD for 2 1/2 years. I purchased the car with 67000 miles on the clock and recently traded it in with 137000 on the clock The reason for the change was after trying to bring the car upto my standard of performance I still wasn't happy with the car and to raise it to a level where I was happy just did not make sense for a financial point of view. I had changed out the exhaust to a Milltek twin pipe S/S unit (lovely burble), PiperX air filter, fully poly bushed and re-mapped. The car was raised to 220bhp but it never felt that quick. Over the time of ownership it suffered numerous issues, all 4 injectors, gearbox 5th and 6th gear, NS steering nuckle cracked, fuel filler cap locking mechanism, NS front window mechanism, EGR valve and being an Audi none of these were cheap!!! If you are looking at any of the Audi A4 B7's check for rust in the rear arches, on the Avant models check for the orange bobbling around the roof rail channels. Compared to other cars I've owned this has been by far and away the most thirsty car on oil that I've owned, it has not been excessive and there was no leaks, I would use a litre of oil every 6-8 weeks The cabin is very well screwed together as you would expect from a VAG car, no annoying rattles or creaks. The load capacity is decent. It's well worth getting a model with a BOSE system installed as the sound quality is right up there with the best of them and the bass is impressive. The drive is very sure footed even in the FWD setup but you do feel detached from the action. The straight line figues look good on paper but in the real never set my world on fire. MPG wise even when doing my 55mile each way commute driving sensibly I never got close to the published figures (cough cough diesel gate) I am now back with my Vauxhalls in the form of an Insignia 2.0 CDTI BiTurbo 4x4 and the smile has returned to commute
