  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

Its practical but sporty. Very useful for bikes, canoes and getting into and out of places other vehicles can't i.e. muddy wet fields or parks etc for events.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like all the things that I have said about it, the drive and the look and feel.

Would you buy this car again and why?

NO !!! for the reasons stated.

What are you likely to buy next?

Either a 4 wheel drive or perhaps a BMW at the right price. I also like Peugeots as thay are well represented in France and appear to go on forever.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £18,500

When did you buy the car?

    June 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

The deal was not that good as I traded in a 2008 BMW 5 series Tourer M sport pack, which was a lovely car and they only offered me 1500 for it in part x. The reason I wanted to swap the BMW was due to the poor winter handling, the constant damage to run flat tyres and buckled wheels from the pot holes etc And also the poor design of wiring loom in the well for what should have been the spare wheel. The car got water in the well and shorted out the wiring loom requiring a £8000 replacement. How ridiculous is that.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a 4 wheel drive due to the bad winters and amount of snow we were having at the time from 2009. I also wanted an estate and a reliable one as I had 3 Audi A4's before as company cars. It replaced a BMW 5 series Tourer with sport pack.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was smart and friendly but they only offered a 3 month warranty and not the best trade in for my old car. They changed 2 tyres for me at 50% cost but would not extend the warranty and they were an Audi approved dealership.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Its drives very well, easy to park with the sensors, it handles well as 4 wheel drive and its comfortable. I a nice compact estate cars, as its not too wide. Feels easy to drive.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy due to the narrow width and parking sensors.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes lots of things have gone wrong with the car. It wouldnt start some cold mornings. The rear spring broke. It needed a new power steering pump after only 70,000 miles and the garage wanted over £1000 to get it through the MOT at that time including a new cam belt. Four weeks ago the engine failed on the M25 on my way to France. The engine just stopped after the oil light came on showing lack of pressure. The car was recovered by the AA and taken to a specialist repairer where it was found that 2 of the big ends had failed on the crankshaft after only 82000 miles. I now have a bill for nearly £3000 for a re-manufactured engine. I regret the day I bought this car. It has been areal disappointment. Also the cruise control never worked and the headlights anr not very bright.

What's most practical about your car?

The 4 wheel drive as I live along a towpath on a steep incline and I have to access a field with muddy grass.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Leather seats, 4 wheel drive and the general handling of the car was great. Also the look and feel. Its an easy car to drive and you feel safe in it.
