Audi A6 Avant (2011 - 2018) 2.0 TDI Ultra SE (11/14-) 5d S Tronic Owner Review

Solid performer all round. Exceptional motorway performance which could easily land you in jail - I am lucky enough to enjoy derestricted Autobahns and acceleration in 6th is surprising until it bumps into 7th and then really hits it's stride. I was sceptical that it could be fun to drive, what with being a stolid diesel front driver, but turn in is surprisingly sharp and matched with firm suspension, it can be hustled along through the corners with a smile. The suspension is a little soft but rough surface absorbtion is poor - a passenger described it as being "like a go-kart crashing down a flight of stairs". It is a little intimidating to other road users (white is probably not the most passive of colours) and it seems to attract the pretty ladies here in Italy. Not sure why, but I am not the only one to notice this - a single colleague often asks to borrow it at the weekends... Fuel consumption is poor (compared to the 520d BMW), the thirst for AdBlue means a request for a fill up has yet to appear at a convenient time. Overall the best car I have owned. To put this into perspective, I've had E Class, 520d , 320d, A4 and C Class company cars in the past.
