Audi R8 GT Spyder (2012 - 2012) boot space, practicality and safety
If good crash protection is a priority then the Audi R8 GT Spyder’s safety systems should be more than up to the job. It hasn’t been crashed tested by Euro NCAP but expect it to receive top marks. It’s comes with a host of safety kit including ABS, all-wheel drive and electronic stability control that also has a sport mode and can be fully deactivated for those drivers who enjoy going sideways (preferably on a track).
The R8 has driver and passenger airbags, automatic pop-up roll-over protection, seat belt pre-tensioners, and head restraint support to reduce whiplash injuries.
Storage space in the R8 GT is fairly good… sort of. There is adequate room for both front seat passengers while there’s 100 litres of luggage space in the front load bay. That’s more than enough to swallow a couple of overnight bags. It’s not quite as good as the Porsche 911 that has 135 litres of load space in the front and 155 litres in the rear. Let’s face it, this Audi R8 GT is built for speed and driving enjoyment.
If you wanted a practical Audi then you’d choose an Audi A6 Avant.
