• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Since I love to annoy your traditional Bentley owner by wearing a bike leather when I am driving, and like to listen to a bit of Black Sabbath when I am tooling about, I don't come across as your average Bentley owner. Estate Agents and their ilk take a double take and I develop some sort of unwarranted respect. If the car could speak it would probably say something rude about it's new owner!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Friends love it. Wife wanted a Fiat Panda. Neighbours cycle round it with their hoodies up and sharp objects in their hands. (Wife won't move and I haven't got a garage, so have had to buy a second car to get the first car out of the garage 3 miles away.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, because I've already paid for it. I'll have another though when I blow this one up. It's brutal and refined at the same time, and all most people see of it is the rear end.

What are you likely to buy next?

Peugeot Cabriolet 'cos it's cheap to run and I can fix it myself. Bit of fun for the summer too.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £29,500

When did you buy the car?

    January 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes. Nice car, good condition, well serviced by themselves with a full service history and good after sales customer support.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    I like agricultural machinery.

    What was the dealer like?

Marvellous. Helps me to this day, even if he is under no obligation to do so. We are now mates on Facebook! Colbrook Specialists of Peterborough have helped me out no end with advice on after market products. They do not have the snobby approach that Bentley Main Dealers have.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Smooth, powerful, manoeuvrable beyond my expectations. Lots of buttons to press when you get bored,(expecting to find the ejector seat button at any moment)! Lousy sat-nav. Good stereo. I Pod aftermarket connection makes this even better. T.V. is analogue so no longer works. £2000 quid for Bentley digital conversion kit, but £875 quid if you can put up with a non-Bentley product.

    What's it like to park?

Parking censors all round work well, but give me nightmares when I come to put it in the garage of a night, (Beep, beep, beep)!

Have you had any problems with the car?

Just the usual problems like leaves in the Plenum Chamber, but I've not had it long and I was aware of these problems before I bought it.

What's most practical about your car?

Nothing. Can't park it anywhere because of vandalism. More power than you can legally use. Fuel consumption is heavy, (8 mpg around town-but about 21 mpg on the motorway where it really shines. Must be the most comfortable car I've ever owned, but at 7'3" wide it's a nightmare down country lanes. Come the Summer though...
