Comparing it to a VW Golf really isn't doing it justice. The Golf is a great car, but the 1 Series has BMW running through it like a stick of rock.
Comfort
I can't understand why everyone says there's no legroom. I'm 6'6"" tall and have NO problems sitting in the back. If I wanted to stretch my legs out, I'd get a 750i...

It's got definite steal-ability I guess, but it's got a range of nice touches. The home lights system and illuminated doorhandles are both nice touches.
Service
Spot on! BMW dealers always look after you well in my opinion. Got a free track day at Rockingham with a range of 1 Series, X3's, X5's and Mini's to play in all day!
