BMW 1-Series Hatchback (2011 - 2019) 120d SE 5d Step Auto Owner Review

Having owned Fords historically and a Mercedes before this, I've always been anti-BMW but this car has changed my mind. Now I get what all the fuss is about. I have the SE version and spec is low but it has all I need and nothing more. The key is how it drives. It corners well, is quite fast (120D) and is never bumpy (SE on 16 inch wheels) and handling is among the better cars I've driven. The Fiesta, my MR2 and a Golf GTi are all better but as an all round car, to own and run and not cost the earth, this is outstanding. Other than the Fiesta this is the first car I can imagine keeping for many years. It's also practical, with good door bins, the best cupholders and a reasonable boot. It is very low though and people with low back pain may want lumbar support in the seats, which isn't standard so watch out.
