In their own words

I bought this car as an ex demonstrator from BMW with 4432 miles on the clock. In the 18 months that we have owned it it has been back to the garage 6 times to rectify problems covered by the warranty. In June 2017 there was a problem with the battery terminal cable, a new EGR valve was required and drivetrain check in August 2017. In November 2017 there was a drain on the car battery and reprogramming required to control units. on the 29th December the car console stated battery draining yet again, headlights went dim on the journey home, there was a burning smell in the cabin, I made it home, called BMW roadside assistance yet again, checked car after this telephone conversation to find it on fire on my driveway. The battery had caught fire and basically ruined my car which is now a write off. BMW recovered the vehicle and told me the diagnostics showed the car gearbox was overheating and the electrical system was draining prior to the car going on fire! I have now been told by BMW UK it is not their problem even with 12 months warranty still on the car and only covered 28,000 miles from new. I was then told by BMW to claim off my insurance company. I have received dreadful customer service from BMW and would never buy a BMW ever again. if you want the ultimate driving nightmare then this is the car for you...
