  • Similar in size to a Clio
  • Set to go on sale in the summer

Renault has revealed the first pictures of its new two-seater roadster - called Wind.

The new model, which is only a smidgeon shorter than a Clio supermini, features an electrically-operated folding metal hardtop and will be a rival to cars such as the Peugeot 207 CC and Nissan Micra C+C.

According to Renault, the way the roof retracts into the bodywork is innovative as it does not affect luggage space.

The car will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and will go on sale in the UK in the summer.

No details of engines or prices have been revealed, but expect the Wind to borrow engines from the Twingo and Clio ranges.
