Chrysler Voyager (1997 - 2001) 2.0 SE 5d (7 Seat) Owner Review

Chrysler Voyager

In their own words

I bought the Chrysler Voyager with a little under 120k miles on the clock. The first thing I noticed upon driving away was a particularly sticky accelerator. Now, I did need a car quite urgently and bought the vehicle for just under one thousand pounds so was not surprised by this. The Voyager struggles to achieve 23 mpg on the highway and around town it is really expensive, I spent a great deal more than I anticipated on gasoline, with a 2.4L engine and a massive weight this car is extremely slow to accelerate and even while cruising on the motorway found myself struggling to keep up with traffic if there was even a slight hill. The car also handles poorly, lots of under-steer and disappointing handling. Within 7 months of ownership the brakes are beginning to fail and will have to be replaced soon, the support mount for the gear stick also snapped, the central locking works intermittently and the roof trim has come away. Yes, this car has tonnes of space and 7 seats, 5 of which are fully removable which can turn this minivan into a camper or small van. Having said that, I feel it would be worth it to just go ahead and buy a small van instead. It seems that they attempted to create a van that drives and feels like a car however I really feel they missed the mark and achieved instead the worst of both worlds.
