What does this car say about you?

It's different, stylish, unusual, slightly weird.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

No idea! My wife likes the comfort, is frightened to drive it (automatic gearbox) and calls it the Leviathan, after the Stargate spaceship which is part organic and part machine. Does that help?

Would you buy this car again and why?

Road tax is high and fuel consumption, at around 30mpg, is not great, and anyway, who buys the same car twice? But I will have enjoyed owning it.

What are you likely to buy next?

Will keep the C6 until it expires, then probably buy something duller, more environmentally friendly, and a bit cheaper to run - a Volvo, maybe, or even a Berlingo if money is short...

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £16,000

When did you buy the car?

    April 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

I was reasonably happy with the price, but the dealer, in Fife, sold me a car with four perished tyres and a failed battery. One tyre gave way on the drive home. The dealer should have put this right before selling me the car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

It's definitely different and fast depreciation makes for a good second-hand deal. Mine was an ex-demonstrator model with less than 8,000 miles on the clock.

    What was the dealer like?

    Not very professional!

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

I really enjoy driving this car. Use the sport automatic gearbox option, or - even better - the manual option, and you can really push this car in a way that you might not expect from such a large car. People say the steering is soft, but I find it just fine. Very quiet on the motorway, and hugely comfortable.

    What's it like to park?

It is big to park, and the parking sensors come in handy in a tight space. Not a car for squeezing into a tight space. But I live in Scotland and there is lots of space up here.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The brake discs and suspension have needed some work, probably because it is a heavy car which gets driven mainly on A roads. No problems other than than that.

What's most practical about your car?

I wouldn't describe the C6 as practical. It's not meant to be that kind of car. Plenty of space inside, for drivers and front and rear passengers.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The sound system is like your home hi-fi! The head-up display is a gimmick at first, but actually works very well and helps you keep your eyes on the road.
