Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 29 - 42 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Long term residuals are a concern, because of cashback deals for new buyers, and the fact that there are plenty of people carriers that offering seven seats and are less costly to run in terms of residuals, fuel and insurance. Petrol models will fare much worse on the used market.

The C8 performs badly on the eco front. With an average of 204 g/km CO2 across the line-up, its emissions are high for a people carrier. The best engine is the 2.0HDi with 120bhp – it emits 182g/km of CO2 and returns 41mpg.

We’ve heard of numerous faults with the C8. Although none are major problems they are faults nonetheless including numerous electrical and sensor issues which result in cars repeatedly returning to dealerships for work. If you’re buying used be aware if the car is out of warranty as these can be expensive and time consuming to repair.
