Dacia 2016 Logan MCV

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

If you want a cheap car that delivers good mpg, and has nearly all the creature comforts that some higher quality cars have, then go for the Dacia Logan MCV.It is a nice smoothish drive and responds to the throttle easily.Loads of luggage space in the boot.Fold the rear seats down and you have the space of a hearse.Oh, and it will tow a 900kg caravan from Nottingham to Dover, and from Calais to South East France effortlessly, at a constant 75mph.Any faster and you feel a slight snaking, so keep it around 75mph or less.

How reliable do you find the car?

I purchased the car at 2 years old from a car hire company with full service history, trading in an 08 Skoda Roomster 1..It was on 62,000 miles.in the 2 years I have had the car,I have been to France 4 times, achieving 94.7mpg on the motorway at a constant 130kph(82mph), and achieved a top speed of 116mph,again in France.Although there are loads of extras like electric mirrors, electric windows, front fog lights, air conditioning, hands free phone capability etc, most modern cars have all these anyway. The large boot is ideal as I have a dog who likes travelling in his crate. The hooter stalk failed around 2 months ago, and I was quoted well over £200 for a supply and fit, so I purchased an aftermarket one on ebay for under £30.00 and got it fitted for £25.00.The only drawback with the car is the thin paintwork.it scratches very ease.I have just spent over 2 hours touching up scratches, grazes etc.the engine is very responsive. The shock absorbers/suspension could be better, but then the price would increase.I love the £0.0 tax band, and cheap insurance. The car is used mostly every day, and has proven to be reliable with no break downs, no overheating,no oil or water loss etc.Because of the cheap, thin paint job, I would not buy another Logan unless the paint work was improved considerably, and because of this,I am selling mine and investing in either a Volvo V70 estate, Vauxhall Insignia estate,VW Passat estate,Skoda Superb estate(my main choice) or Peugeot 508 estate.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Thin paintwork is my only gripe.
