Daewoo Laganza
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good value as a second hand car, provided it's looked after.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fuel costs are medium/high, but to be expected.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Always good to drive. Very smooth and quiet, you need the stereo on to stay awake.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

For the amount of fuel it uses I would have expected a bit more poke out of the engine. Nevertheless, still enough to overtake without feeling like a Sunday driver.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Very reliable.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Obviously not that popular, and sometimes get that 'Cheap-Foreign-import' feel about it. But it's got good styling and luxurious interior that puts better known manufacturors to shame.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Comfort is good as a driver, passenger comfort is sub-standard on long journeys.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

One of the best security packs as standard, including immobiliser and interior sensor. Daewoo should be proud of that one.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

No service received, although Daewoo are no help anyway.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Very reliable, but watch out for seized water pump which will shred the cam belt.

    Other

Flimsy sun visors. No Haynes manual, Daewoo do their own for a hefty three figure sum.

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    No

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    No
