£5995 brand new seemed a bargain to me. No extras, no abs, no electric windows but a radio cassette, 2 airbags and an immobiliser. It did for me.

very cheap, full tanks lasted me nearly a fortnight, driving (usually very quickly) 120 miles to and from work all week and then having fun on the night and weekend.

    Driving

Took a while to get used to the low geared unassisted steering but was fine once I had. Despite the body roll it coped well on the bends even at high speeds. I loved driving it fast on twisty fast roads and have seen off some powerful competition.

    Performance

Fantastic for a 1 litre engine. Sounded great too. It coped well on motorways without too much noise and kept up with the flow of traffic easily even when it came to the stop/start bits.

Spot on, as you would expect. Needed new brake pads at 20,000 miles, but that was down to my fast driving.

I don't care about the image, but I do think it looks funky. My mates used to call it a Postman Pat van because of it's bright red colour, but I think they were just jealous!

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Fine for me. Took on some long motorway trips, covering about 400 miles in one stint. I have a bad back and I found it very comfortable in any situation.

  • Security and Service

    Security

Not good, but then nobody tried to take it. the factory immobiliser would've kept anyone at bay anyway and besides, at this price what do you expect to get?

    Service

No need to worry about anything.
