Its Suzuki counterpart, the SX4, scored four stars out of five for occupant protection in crash tests under the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), with three out of five for child protection. Front and side airbags are standard for the two front seats, with optional full-length curtain airbags. The front passenger airbag can be deactivated to allow a rear-facing baby seat to be carried in the front, and the rear seats have Isofix child seat mounting points.

An electronic stability control system is optional on Eleganza models.

With the rear seats in place the Sedici offers decent boot space with 270 litres on offer – similar to the Grande Punto, but smaller than cars like the Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Fiesta. However, the rear seats fold forward easily, leaving a large load area which measures 670 litres. In the front there’s a twin cupholder in front of the gearstick but the door pockets are narrow making it tricky to retrieve items.
