• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

It's worth a second look as she's a little bit sporty and a little bit sexy but fundamentally a good workhorse!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    I don't know, I've never asked.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. I love it that slightly sporty look that conceals a huge hatchback big enough for 3 bales of bedding, a sack of horse feed and a sack of dog feed. She can be a bit thirsty but the low maintenance bill offsets that cost.

What are you likely to buy next?

If I can't get another Cougar I'll have to consider a small 4WD.

When did you buy the car?

    March 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a coupe but they were too small for my lifestyle.

    What was the dealer like?

A reknown difficult character who refused to let me try the car on the first two visits, promised to tax it and didn't and generally lived up to his reputation!

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Eats up the miles when you finally find a road worth putting it into 5th gear for. Can sometimes feel a bit too wide / too long in town or small country lanes but is forgiven for the amount of shopping she holds with the same ease as the road.

    What's it like to park?

The biggest irritation are the wide doors because if you forget to put the seat right back before getting out and somebody then parks too close getting back in can be a problem!

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

It has passed three MOTS first time. It's only minor problem is with the front sidelight bulbs which don't seem to last very long.

What's most practical about your car?

The hatchback boot with fold-down rear seats makes it ideal for collecting sacks of feed and bedding for my horse and still have room for the dog! And the wide tyres means it copes better than other hatchbacks in muddy going.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

It is fairly basic inside but at least that reduces the time it takes to keep clean.
