Although the Accord is more expensive to buy than the previous version, resale values should remain strong. Plus for their power outputs, the engines are quite economical while servicing isn’t as expensive as the typical prices at rival premium dealers.

It’s a little frustrating that the diesel version of the Accord has higher carbon dioxide emissions than the previous version of the car, but overall emissions, including diesel particulates (soot particles) and nitrogen oxides, that contribute to localised pollution in built up areas are far lower than before. CO2 emissions on the petrol engines with both manual and automatic gearboxes are lower than in the previous Accord.

Honda has an excellent reputation for reliability, so no major problems are expected with the Accord. The previous model regularly topped independent reliability surveys.
