Other Honda Civic (2000 - 2005) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Noones actually said, but he'd probably say I cant park worth a damn! Its about as sexy as a "practical" car can realistically get.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I get some gentle mocking for having "an old persons car," but most people have admitted to liking it in the privacy of a one-on-one conversation.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I love this car. But on investigation the previous model of civic was faster and more powerful. But for fuel economy you simply cant get much better than this old boy. I would probably consider buying him back again when I have a small family to call mine own as it definitely has an onus on space, fuel and reliability.

What are you likely to buy next?

Honda still. But faster. Integra perhaps, or the aforementioned VTI civic. I wouldnt stray far away from the Honda niche.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,500

When did you buy the car?

    June 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Not too shabby. Former owner neglected to tell me he had a couple of collisions and door was not original, but this hasnt effected the running of the motor.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

My first car upgrade from "the old banger" I learnt on ;o)

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

A solid, comfortable and capable car. Getting up to speed can be tedious for those of a racing mentality (ahem) with high expectations of a v-tec engine, but once there it covers good ground and makes for a very smooth journey.

    What's it like to park?

quite small nose end so driving into spaces is easier than some cars. The spoiler being directly parallel to the straight rear end of the car actually aids judgement when reversing. (upon miscalculations, it is worth noting that this particular car does NOT bounce)

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Not a thing!

What's most practical about your car?

Huge boot and passenger space. Very comfortable drive. Amazing fuel economy. I can make a 150mile journey easily on a tank of petrol.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The optional spoiler is a must. It transforms the car completely.
