Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 56 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Reasonably fuel-efficient, but heavy depreciation, not as cheap to insure as some. Major draw is the five-year/unlimited mileage warranty. Perfect if you’re keeping the car for a long time and an incentive if you’re selling privately.

Accent is a good choice for eco-friendly buyers. With an average of 159 g/km CO2 across the line-up, its emissions are relatively low for a small family hatchback. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.5-litre diesel, which is one of the greenest models in the range. The range is also fairly economical, averaging 43 mpg.

Hyundai have improved their reliability of late. Five-year warranty takes care of the worries.
