What is miles per pound?

Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 46 - 52 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Amica’s a very cheap car to run. Servicing is every 10,000 miles and is reasonably priced, while it falls into some of the lowest groups for insurance. Manual versions of the car are capable of more than 50mpg. A five-year warranty on new cars gives peace of mind against any expensive costs. Road fund licence isn’t as cheap as you may expect for a small car.

Amica performs remarkably well on the eco front. With an average of 135 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are comparably low for a super mini hatchback. It’s worth noting that the line-up does not feature any diesel models, which typically produce less carbon dioxide than petrol engines with similar power outputs. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.1-litre petrol, which is one of the greenest models in the range.

The range is very frugal, averaging 50 mpg.

Typically reliable Korean engineering standards ought to ensure that problems are few, and the unlimited mileage, five-year warranty means it’ll be a long time before it becomes your problem anyway.
