In their own words

I bought the car because it still had plenty of manufacturers warranty in hand and the long wheelbase estate can take masses of stuff in the back. Trim is not bad for plastic but showing its age. Just as well as I had warranty as several problems were fixed, front wheel bearing, turbo replaced, air conditioning unit... Happily these were done without charge. The turbo would have been expensive. In fact parts do seem to be expensive. A persistent issue is brake wear with discs and pads seeming to need to need to be frequently replaced. Tyre pressure monitors failed and are expensive to replace, but not mandatory on this car made before 2012. Otherwise easy motoring, not exceptionally comfortable but adequate and enough oomph in the engine even now after 11 years for brisk accelerating and easy motorway speeds. Noticeable rust on various mountings, expected wear on steering, suspension and corrosion on pipes remarked at mot. Had to turn off reversing alarm as it malfunctioned and just discovered two manufacturer's recalls (not safety related they say but faulty airbag trigger seems risky to me) which hadn't been notified. I had to chase up. Overall the car is still a great workhorse, hasn't broken down on me once, and can return 60 mpg driving normally but drops to 50 mpg when driven hard. OVERALL great value for money car.
