  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

Practical, but made a snap decision on price and practicality alone. Probably didn't go on a test drive!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Wife hates it - friends laugh when watching you try and park, however all are impressed by he interior space. No one can get the voice activation to work properly - northern / Yorkshire accents to blame?

Would you buy this car again and why?

NO! Get a Honda or a Subaru if you want reliability - or a base spec Volvo if you need more space... hell even the insignia tourer is a step up from this heap!

What are you likely to buy next?

I have ordered my 3-Series and I am due to pick up a Kia Sorento from the hire company whilst waiting - I will review after the 3 month waiting period for the 3 series.

I did not buy this car but had the unpleasant opportunity to have one on long-term hire whilst joining a company...

  • Driving it

    1 out of 5 1.0

    What's it like to drive?

Ok round town - Very light steering. Absolutely awful on the motorway verging on dangerous - there is no power at all on this diesel variant, you are constantly adjusting for the cars vague steering. TERRIBLE driver seating position, pedals are in the wrong places leaving aching legs / knees on long journeys, lumbar support is made for those of a very small stature, poor wiper / water removal design obscures vision when using sprays / when raining (even light to moderate rain), and some of the standard controls on dash are too far out of reach. These in my mind are real clinchers for a car aimed at company buyers such as myself.

    What's it like to park?

No parking sensors on this model - BEWARE!! This car does not fit into normal UK spaces (you will be walking across supermarket car parks a lot looking for a double length space). Steering is however very light to use when parking but... the auto hold has a mind of it's own and require revs up to 2500 to release - even on the level, this is dangerous and you WILL end up bumping into something / someone, not to mention the passenger discomfort.

  • Living with it

    2 out of 5 2.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes - auto hold is a nightmare, real struggle to manoeuvre when it is on and jams when in reverse. Problems with Auto-Stop start - never seems to function - and the lack of parking sensors on a car with such poor visibility / size is a REAL problem, a colleague has the sensors and says there accuracy is inconsistent at best -poor quality?

What's most practical about your car?

HUGE boot and rear passenger space - however the front passenger / driver are surprisingly cramped - no reviews seem to mention this (I am only 5'10").

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Boot / rear leg room for kids - there is so much legroom that I can dump bags in the foot wells and my 8 year old still has reasonable legroom.
