Other Jaguar X-Type (2001 - 2010) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Willing to be different, not follow the usual BMW/Audi route.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Friends and neighbours like it. Parents are so impressed they are buying one.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. This car is so underrated and wrote off by press and people who don't know any better, it is a genuine Jaguar from the way it rides to the real wood and leather interior, to the way it makes you feel inside when driving it, it is a motoring bargain and anyone thinking of a BMW/Audi or Merc should give this car a test drive and a fair chance you'll be impressed.

What are you likely to buy next?

Will probably keep this one, if not then probably another one of these.

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    August 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Paid less than market price for a Sport with upgraded audio and cruise control.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

After being ignored by BMW and Audi sales staff, we wandered into the local Jaguar dealer, looking to see what they had - not necessarily a Jag, however the sheer value for money and no pressure sales staff won us over!

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly, not pushy, have been back since for some mud flaps and the service was beyond reproach.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

One of the best cars I have driven, handles like a dream, rides as you'd expect a Jaguar to, can be hustled down backroads, yet motorway comfort. 130 bhp diesel engine is turning just over 2000 rpm at 70mph, town mpg averages 45+ and Band C tax.

    What's it like to park?

Ok, rear sensors help when reversing

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Nothing

What's most practical about your car?

The comfort, we came back from Cornwall, stopping only for pitstops, 8 hour journey finished fresh as a daisy

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The electrically folding mirrors, for some reason eveyone like those.
