In their own words

Bought car second hand for £9000 for 2011 patriot in 2016. Paid top money because of history and low mileage (32000). Little problems from the word go. In my 2 years of ownership it was constant problems. Ball joints, arms, breaks, cd player, central locking, glow plugs, wheel bearings, loose trim both inside and outside the car. Please understand the car had excellent history and all receipts and had had ball joints replaced 6 months before my ownership! I didn't have all of the above repaired, only the essentials due to finances and lived with its many intermittent faults. The work I did have done was very expensive, mainly due to high parts costs. I realise that sometimes you can just be unlucky but for such a low mileage vehicle you would not expect this many faults. Loads of cabin noise. On the plus side you get a big boot and the car is surprising fun to drive. Loads of power and torque, overtaking is easy and absorbs road bumps well. Very roomy inside. Such a shame vehicle is so unreliable as I could live with high repair costs but not with spending out £2000 plus repair costs a year. If your thinking of buying one then proceed with caution. I thought I was doing everything right by buying low mileage, great history but I believe the patriot is poorly built. Most positive reviews seem to be from people who are in the early stages of owning the car. Anyone who seems to have owned one for any length of time appears to have a experience more akin to mine.
