It looks like a big car, so you may expect Jeep Renegade running costs to be quite high. That's not the case, though. Fuel economy isn't going to require another mortgage, and servicing and maintenance shouldn't be too far removed from Fiat's 500L or similar machines. It's worth making sure you live near a dealership, though.
Estimated fuel cost per year
|Fuel type||Pence per litre||Estimated cost per year *|
|Unleaded||128p||£1,238 - £1,455 *|
|Diesel||131p||£931 - £1,418 *|
* The estimated fuel cost figure is based on an annual mileage of 10,000 miles and is a guide to how much this model will cost in fuel each year. It's calculated using the model's average MPG (calculated from both town centre and motorway driving) and the average fuel price from around the country. Actual fuel costs will vary based on driving style and road conditions.
Ongoing running costs
Precise intervals are not clear at this time but expect close to other Jeep products. Could be slightly shorter due to vast array of electrical safety systems installed that require updates.

How much is it to insure?
Vehicle excise duty (VED) varies according to the CO2 emissions and the fuel type of the vehicle. For cars registered before 01 March 2001 it is based on engine size. For cars registered on or after 01 March 2001 the VED or road tax is based on the car's CO2 emissions.
With a CO2 range of between 120g/km and 155g/km, the Jeep Renegade emissions portfolio isn't a huge cause for concern. Those considering a Jeep might be put off because they think they're hurting the environment, but that isn't really the case here. Of course, it's not as efficient as a Yeti Greenline, but it isn't claiming green credentials. It simply puts up a decent fist of it.
Highest and lowest CO2 emissions
|Engine||CO2 emissions||Road tax (12 months)|
1.6 Multijet (120hp) Diesel
|115 g/km (Min)||£30 - £145|
|2.0 Multijet (170hp) Diesel||173 g/km (Max)||£145|
While this is an all-new car, so it's difficult to gauge Jeep Renegade reliability with any definitive verdict, we can tell you that this vehicle feels very well screwed-together.
Jeeps are known as tough machines, and the brand has very much embraced this with every part of the car's design. We've no reason to think the car will be unreliable at all.
