In their own words

An ideal alternative for those wanting a quality hybrid that is not the go-to obvious choice of a Prius, even though it is essentially a Prius in all but skin. Of the twelve cars I have owned ranging from a Punto to a Audi A6 this is the best 'town' car I have owned. Slick, quiet and surprisingly responsive for a hybrid, when put in 'sports' mode it may even put on smile on your face. This is the first Lexus I have owned and the build quality is excellent, steering is responsive around town and cruising on the motorway is great. However, push the car or take in a hilly ride or overtaking is when you will find it struggles. The groan of the engine pushing the system is intrusive and annoying. Blind spots to the rear are very bad and I would advise getting a model with parking sensors. The sound system is good but fiddly and there is only room for children really in the back. Once warmed up it can average a pleasing 48mpg, and you think great, its frugal and less trips to the fuel station but, because the batteries take up so much space the fuel tank is tiny and you will indeed find yourself frequenting one just as much as a regular car. So, if you live in a relatively flat area and mostly do town runs and don't need a big boot, this is a very smart choice.
