• Summary

What does this car say about you?

It's an Italian sportscar - to most people it says "midlife crisis", "more money than Sense" and "driver has breakdown cover".

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Generally positive reactions all around, I get thumbs up in the street, and have only had one or 2 negative reactions, both times from a bald tattoed no-neck in an old transit van.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. They don't make them any more, and to be honest whilst I am used to the automated clutch, I don't really like it. If I stayed with the brand, I'd probably get a manual 4200 Coupe.

What are you likely to buy next?

I'd like to think a Ferrari 430, Gallardo, or Audi R8. However in all reality it will be probably be back to another Toyota estate.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £30,000

When did you buy the car?

    March 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

Prices of these things vary massively on condition and mileage. I think I paid a fair price.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted something special but useable. This was the only thing that we found that my wife could get in the back of.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Excellent. Needs revving to go quickly, but feels like a bigger faster version of our MR2 roadster. In town you need to be gentle with the automated clutch.

    What's it like to park?

Easy, good mirrors for seeing how far you are from the kerb, and reversing sensors that work very well.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Minor niggles - the windows judder and squeek at times so the door cards need to come out to put a bit of grease on. Mirror got a spider living there which makes the temp sensor read -4C every time I come to the car.

What's most practical about your car?

Reasonable boot, and 4 proper seats that can be used by adults. Oh, and 400 BHP for safer overtaking.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The stereo is massively configurable, comes with it's own 300 page book. Also they seem to have stayed the same price for 12 months, unlike the 30k merc my sister bought.
