In their own words

A very good package. It drives incredibly well on the 17" wide profile wheels. Tyres Avon ZV7 last for ages and offer excellent grip.. Brakes are very good and handles well in bends. Suspension is firm offering little body roll. Engine is powerful for 1.6 and will happily tow my small Eriba caravan & still return 40+ to the gallon. Cruises beautifully in sixth gear, with the caravan. Uses no oil between servicing, only washer fluid nothing else needs topping up. Generous boot space considering spare space saver needs to be accommodated for. Other than injector issue, & monitoring when DPF regeneration, very happy to keep it for some time yet.

How reliable do you find the car?

Suffered a failure on fuel injector whilst on holiday. Took one week for parts and repair at Mazda dealer. They did a fantastic job, but cost £400. for factory reconditioned injector this was at 40000. Was told might happen again, but have had no more issues. When engine regenerates DPF, if it does not complete & engine is switched off it can dump diesel into the sump. Now if I spot tick over has raised above normal, I wait & leave engine running. Something to e aware of, but why no warning light of this regeneration occuring so you are aware it's happening!! Fuel consumption not as good as advertised.
