This is an excellent, sensible, reliable car for a small family that still looks modern today and a lot of car for little money. Excellent seats, loads of kit inside and the BOSE sound system is fantastic. But the 2.2 model is all about the masterpiece of an engine. This car can outrun a lot of German executive saloons. I know because I've done it many times, and then I get my smug face ready. 185bhp and 295 torques I still average 42 mpg with my heavy foot and can get over 50 on motorways. You get a lot of turbo lag under 1500rpm but past that the car just launches off. I've sometimes had the traction control interfere in 3rd gear! If you want something like a golf but is faster, better looking, cooler and rarer. Then get a Mazda 3 2.2 sport. Great car all round.

Bearing on the AC unit needed replacing but was done under the free 3 months warranty that came with the car. Apart from that it's been bullet proofAbout their car
