Got a good deal, as it was near christmas, car just had a service and had minor scruff on front bumper, hence £11,500 and not £13,500, plus they wanted to sell quickly as it was eating into the final years manufacturing warranty.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The looks, sliding door and extra gizmo's you get with Japanese cars, satnav, etc, etc, plus the price is way below other MPV's.

    Nice, nothing special :).

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

Good, let down by electric steering, no life and feel. Gear change is very bouncy and notchy. Seat is a little small on the bum side. Fuel economy is very bad. Doesnt matter how i drive (qualified driving instructor) i cannot get the average MPG to stay over 29.9 on local driving, thats bad, my old VW Touran 1.9 tdi did 40mpg local! Motorway it will do above 35mpg and just under 40mpg if doing under 100 miles. I did a non stop driving of 250 miles on motorway 65 to 70mph, some times 50mph due to road works and at the end of my journey it showed 45mpg average shocking :(.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy due to lifeless steering.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Cold start it shakes when idle comes down to normal as if it's ready to stall. Mazda updated the software on the idle control valve but still the same. Once it's warm it's fine. After cleaning the MAF with electrical contact spray it idled better but after a few weeks back to spluttering from cold. Also there is strong fume smell in the cabin when car is idling from cold. Changed pollen filter and air filter but still smells of fume from cold.

What's most practical about your car?

Sliding doors and its car like body.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Favourite has to be sat nav but is let down by not allowing you to bluetooth music from phone or watch movies on the screen.
