Mercedes-Benz CE-Class Cabriolet 77-
  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Still a lot of (future classic) car for a little money, this will soon change when people realise what a bargain CEs are right now.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Built like a brick sh1thouse, consequently should something fail it can be expensive. 4 cylinder engine far cheaper to run and maintain than more desirable six. Well-looked after example should cost very little to run if you keep up the servicing.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

A pleasure to drive. Large, but not unwieldy, quiet, comfortable, and very capable.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

The 2.3l engine is perfectly adequate, but not going to set the world on fire. If you want grunt, go for the six-pot variant. Handles like any nearly two ton luxury Merc cruiser - surprisingly well.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Last of the pre-accountant Mercs. Look after it and it will look after you.

Wears it's years very well. Still looks like an expensive car. Rapidly gaining old skool cache.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Splendid. Quiet, refined, ergonomic. Still knocks most modern cars into a cocked hat with its solid quality feel.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

All I know is that my car has never been broken into or stolen in its sixteen year life.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have only used Mercedes Benz to purchase spares. Service depends on dealer you use.
