  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

It says I like the space. I like to travel in comfort. It says that space and comfort are more important to me than running costs. It's not as brash as a Range Rover Sport or Porsche.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Neighbours wonder why I need such a large car. However, I didn't buy the car for friends/family/neighbours. I bought it for my immediate family and myself.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, because there is little choice of cars with 2,000 litres of boot space with a large load bay. There are fewer still that have decent engines and have some degree of reliability. The engine and refinement are exellent and this makes the car the most suitable for long trips abroad with luggage. It's a nice place to be, allbeit driver or passenger. The downsides are the high running costs. Fuel, servicing (I do have yearly services), tax, etc. I am averaging 28mpg in mixed driving. The most I got was 34mpg on the M4. Also, the seat doesn't suit my back. Everyone else who's been in it loves the seats, so maybe it's just me.

What are you likely to buy next?

Mercedes ML or GL, Land Rover Discovery, Hyundai Santa Fe.

    What's it like to drive?

Drives well for a large 4x4. Doesn't dive too much under braking and doesn't lean too much in bends. Engine is excellent - nearly perfect for a diesel. It's quiet on the motorway and I've taken it to the South of France.

    What's it like to park?

It's large and so tight spaces and underground car parks are tricky.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

    Water pump, parking sensor.

What's most practical about your car?

Boot space is excellent. It's refined and easy to drive. Engine makes overtaking easy. Even when fully loaded, there is always enough power. The car is all about space and comfort. It's good for long distances. It's for gliding along, not throwing into corners.
