In their own words

I bought an SL63 in 2015 which was clearly a ‘Friday afternoon’ car. It was an amazing car but the dealer support when it came to fixing the issues left me utterly infuriated. I sold it after 6 months for one hell of a loss and was reluctant to buy another Mercedes ever again! Unfortunately, 3 years later I had this nagging doubt about giving it another go. Why you probably ask? Well the SL is undoubtedly THE very best convertible you can buy so I bought an SL500 with 5,000 miles on the clock for virtually half the list price. Best car purchase I’ve ever made and I’ve made many in the last 5 years. It’s unbelievably comfortable, very quick when you need it, rides like a limousine and returns 35mpg on a motorway run. If you want a sports car where you can feel everything including the manufacturers name on the cats eyes then this car isn’t for you. If you want the best convertible money can buy for getting you from A to B at speed and in comfort then you won’t beat it. Niggles? Yes there are a few. Mercedes legendary build quality is not quite what you get with the odd rattle here and there. Mercedes dealerships are on the whole well below the standard you would expect and the first service price is a little on the lumpy side. Would I recommend an SL - definitely yes. It’s a special car, one I’ll be keeping for a while.
