  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Not sure - that I've placed performance and pleasure ahead of any sort of practicality?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Mostly love it although are alarmed by the fuel consumption and running costs.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Would buy the new model yes.

What are you likely to buy next?

Sadly something more practical as have developed small children - luckily not my only car so can hang onto it a bit longer...

  • Buying experience

    4 out of 5 4.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £43,000

When did you buy the car?

    May 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

Paid the going rate, perhaps a little under if you factor in the options the car came with - dealer threw in new tyres all round and a few other odds and ends.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Engine noise, huge pace, equipment level and looks.

    What was the dealer like?

Pretty good - but then they were selling me a car. Not that keen on haggling but prepared to move a bit on price etc.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Astonishingly fast with massive V8 engine noise when pushed but pretty quiet and easy to drive if your not in the mood for drama. Engine produces mountains of torque across the rev range so overtaking is simple and safe rather than a chore. The levels of torque also mean that, whatever gear you're in, a jab on the accelerator and it goes like stink and pushes hard right to the rev limiter. Handling is very good in the dry and fine in the wet (given the right tyres) as long as there isn't too much standing water when it can get skittish like a lot of rear wheel drive cars. Undriveable in snow but have never tried winter tyres on it.

    What's it like to park?

Straightforward as has Parktronic so front and back parking sensors - as another reviewer has said these are a must with the long bonnet.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Few things over 6 years - bonnet catch, battery charge fault, cracked suspension strut, roof can be a bit temperamental at times.

What's most practical about your car?

Very little - didn't really buy it for practicality!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Airscarf - absolutely invaluable with the roof down on a cold day - blows hot air round your neck and with the heating on turns the inside of the car into a bubble of warmth.
