Mercedes-Benz V-Class 1996-
  • Economy

    Value

    2 out of 5 2.0

Really heavy fuel muncher! Not good value considering it will probably be getting fixed half its life! (see reliability).

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

Fuel costs hit your wallet heavily, servicing costs and maintenance costs are also high.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Has a fair bit of kick behind it, especially in Sport Mode. Auto version is reluctant to change into higher gears though!

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fast and smooth, overall has a problem with urban driving. Auto version takes away almost all control over accelleration, it does what it wants!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

Always in the garage, too many features that end up braking, badly made (you can pull the driver's side air vent out). Looks nice until you probe deeper!

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very nice, looks the part, semi-sporty, semi-professional.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very nice, leather interior, heated seats, nice automated suspension meaning you dont feel those speed bumps too badly.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Good, to the extent that you can lock yourself out if you're not careful! (Don't press the lock button on the dash whilst getting out!

Rattles after about 40k miles (maybe a one-off).

    Other

Was a company vehicle, got rid of it swiftly. Get a chrysler Grand Voyager.
