In their own words

I was sceptical at first but glad i took the plunge. Mind you the £3k contribution and 0% 5 year finance helped to seal the deal. I bought the auto which drives well although the DCT can sometimes be a bit snatchy if you put your foot down. The sport mode with pedal change is good fun. Comfortable seats but the leather isn't the best quality and i have two splits. MG only cover these for 12 months so report early if you have any issues. The cockpit is clean inside with a nice level of trim. Nothing feels cheap about it. Doors shut firmly. It doesn't have any annoying 'bong' noises that seem to come with the newer HS which has warnings for everything. The entertainment system has a good sound quality but does occasionally lock up or freeze when you start the sat nav. Dealer told me this is due to a low battery so keep that charged. You will find that the stop/start feature doesn't work unless the battery is near to a full charge. I often find a battery warning message when the car has been parked for a few days, although this doesn't seem to impact the car apart from the stop/start. The reversing camera is superb. I had front sensors added to the car as well to aide my parking. Very happy with the car. Originally i was going to trade it after 5 years but unless there is an exceptional offer at the dealer, i'll be very happy to keep it.

How reliable do you find the car?

Had a couple of creaking trim issues in dash, A pillars and door inserts but dealer sorted and no issue since. Steering rack replaced under warranty.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I love the way the car drives and handles. For a small engine, the turbo works well and it accelerates well when asked. It's a little thirsty but on a longer run at 70mph i will get 40mpg. Some owners readily get in the 50s.
