1.3 feels slightly underpowered and struggles at speed; 1.6 is better, but still feels as though it’s labouring too much. 1.9 DI-D is Mitsubishi’s latest diesel and is best suited to hauling Space Star.

Steering is light and obedient. An undemanding and uninspiring drive – it just does the job. Ride is uncomposed: around town it’s too harsh and on A and B-roads it’s wallowy. There’s too much bodyroll, too.
