Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 34 - 51 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Residual value, insurance and servicing costs are all average. Fuel economy from the 1.3 and 1.6 isn’t particularly impressive, but the 1.9 diesel is better.

Space Star is an environmentally friendly choice for green buyers. With an average of 167 g/km CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are quite low for a people carrier hatchback. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.9-litre diesel, which is one of the greenest models in the range. The range is also fairly economical, averaging 42 mpg.

Expect Mitsubishi mechanical durability and reliability; three-year warranty should take care of any worries; interior may not stand up well to hard family use.
