Nissan Micra (1993 - 2002) 1.0 Celebration 3d Owner Review

1.0 Celebration 3d
Nissan Micra 1993

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

I can tell you nothing more about the Micra other than to look past what you've most likely heard about them - grannies car, slow, ugly etc etc. The car is an absolute monster really. I've been to Berlin in it, 100MPH (so much for the "93MPH top speed", I've hit 110MPH on the clocks) again no troubles there. Next year I'm going on a full tour of Europe in it. The car is not slow, at all, its a missle honestly, it loves the high RPM and has a genuine powerband up there. I had it dynoed and this bog standard 1.0 made 64BHP... That is really nothing to snort at in a car that weighs 800Kg or so. I can't explain why I love this car so much, I cannot get rid of it even if I needed to, you have to own one to understand... Many of you reading this probably already do and know exactly what I am on about here. MICRA POWER.

How reliable do you find the car?

I've never had any major go wrong with my Micra, whilst friends and family have been through countless cars at this point, the Micra is always there in the background laughing at them. I use Nissan Genuine service items, which are readily available on eBay, and cheap to boot (full service kit is around £45 shipped!) The engine has never had any faults, neither has the body really... It just keeps going whatever the weather.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

This car is absolutely incredible, I've done countless things with it, including shipping three (yes, three) motorcycles in it at the same time, with a front passenger! I'm not joking, they were small bikes (Honda H100's) but they were all in there! To date this car has shipped 12 different bikes around. I used the car daily for just over two years delivering for Pizza Hut, in constant start stop traffic, engine off, back on again, over and over and over. It never ever gave up, never gave any signs that it wasn't happy to do it. Since then I've become a builder, and this car is literally my work van. You can fit length of wood 2.4 Meters long in it *with the boot shut*. Nothing can stop this car. I've done dump runs in it with the car way over the weight limit, but it did them just fine, it hardly struggled with all the added weight (probably around 200KG?)
