Other Nissan Primera (1999 - 2002) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I'm not interested in being fashionable, but want a car that will last, work properly and will be reliable.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Generally like it and find it comfortable.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Sadly they don't make the Primera anymore and modern Nissan's have the worst parts of Renault technology in their DNA. This car was one of the last "proper" Nissan vehicles. This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned.

What are you likely to buy next?

A smaller Suzuki as I don't need a big car now, the price of fuel also makes it expensive to run a car of this age/size these days.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £2,400

When did you buy the car?

    February 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Dealer very helpful, gave a generous trade in on my old car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a reliable load lugger with decent boot space for work and general family life. I've found Japanese cars to be more reliable than most so Nissan, Toyota and Suzuki were top of my wish list.

    What was the dealer like?

    Friendly helpful and non pushy.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very smooth and reasonably quiet, quick when you need it. The multi-link suspension can make the odd strange creaking noise when pushed hard.

    What's it like to park?

Not too bad for a large car. Turning can be a pain as the turning circle is massive even for a a large family car it's bit excessive.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No major faults at all, the first time I've spent any real money was last year when the exhaust finally went (it was still the original factory fitted unit and lasted 11 years!).

What's most practical about your car?

Great boot space, rear seats fold easily for large loads. Lots of leg room in the back for passengers.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Auto air con/climate control.
