In their own words

Having previously owned mostly German brands I was a little sceptical, but you really do get far better value for money with this SUV than many others especially on the second hand market. Whilst I have had a few minor issues, time has definitely told that the car is a reliable machine with very few major issues along the way aside from some little niggles. It's been cheap to maintain and very much trouble free for the most part. There were some minor issues to date with the suspension when the front rubber bushes wore out (a fairly common issue with these I believe) and the car was creaking but this was fairly cheaply rectified and the car has been running perfectly ever since. There's also been various rattles that have come and gone. I've owned several VW's in the past and whilst they feel more solid/premium they have all been plagued with engine issues from faulty EGR's and sensors to Turbo's blowing which have set me back thousands. I've had no such issues so far with the Qashqai diesel, and whilst a little gruff at times it seems a good solid well designed engine - VW should take note. I can't say I really rate this cars CVT gearbox, however it seems to mostly do it's job smoothly and reliably with the odd hiccup along the way and is extremely fuel efficient for an automatic. The car is impeccable on the motorway - smooth, comfortable and quiet. Overall - I'm happy and don't feel any urge to change as yet!
