Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 61 - 65 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Peugeot 107 running costs are low. Whether buying new or second hand, the 107 is good value for money and it’s cheap to run. The three-cylinder engine is capable of more than 60mpg, servicing is well priced and insurance is group 3 for all models. Low emissions mean road tax is cheap too.

Thanks to its light weight and small engine, the 107 performs remarkably well on the eco front. The original model is capable of 61mpg and Peugeot 107 emissions are just 109g/km of CO2 while facelifted cars from 2009 are even greener – emitting 106g/km and averaging 63mpg. Cars from the start of 2012 offer 65.7mpg and 99g/km CO2 emissions with the manual gearbox.

The Peugeot 107 was part of a project co-developed by Toyota, and this helped deliver improved build quality. Peugeot 107 reliability is pretty good on the whole and this is a simple car so there isn’t lots of complex technology that can go wrong.

There was a recall for 107s built between 2005 and 2009 for a new accelerator pedal to be fitted but other than that the car is proving reliable on the whole.
