Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 38 - 40 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Peugeot 4007 running costs are quite high. Two high specification versions are available, with only a handful of options. However, the GT model with a couple of options fitted costs about the same as a medium specification Nissan Pathfinder, which is a proper seven-seater and a capable off-roader. Depending on the version, a 4007 should be worth between £10,500 and £12,000 at three years old.

Fuel consumption around 40mpg can be expected in everyday driving.

Peugeot 4007 emissions are OK for a car of this size. Just one engine is available for the 4007. Thankfully it’s a diesel – and a thoroughly modern one at that. It helps to keep the car’s environmental impact low, because diesel engines produce less CO2 than their petrol counterparts. The 2.2-litre HDI engine produces 191-194 g/km of CO2 (depending on trim level), which places it comfortably within road tax band F – rather than the highly taxed band G.

It is capable of 39mpg.

The Peugeot 4007 reliability record should be pretty good. It benefits from being developed by Mitsubishi which has a very strong heritage in the 4×4 market. The diesel engine from Peugeot (developed for use in Peugeot, Citroen, Ford and Land Rover products) should also perform well, although there have been a few recalls.
