What does this car say about you?

The clio is a 'chic' and stylish car, and although its a bit femanine, It is less so than most. mine is black, which is a desirable colour. I would say it suggests the driver is fun and up for a laugh.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

they tend to think its unobtrusive but pretty. I tend to keep mine clean, so it usually looks nice. Trying desperately to get some hubcaps or alloys though!

Would you buy this car again and why?

I am unlikely to buy a newer clio after this one, but thats because the later models got heavier and less involving to drive. the earlier (MK1 and MK2 ph1) clios are more fun to drive. I would consider buying another if, for example, mine is stolen.

What are you likely to buy next?

I would go for something a bit more poweful, but probably another small hatchback. I would love a new suzuki swift sport 1.6.

    What's it like to drive?

easy. Its the first car I have owned, but I have driven many. clutch is reassuringly firm, brakes are power assisted and very responsive. engine (only a 1.2 8v) can be sluggish, and has little torque- you have to be in the right gear at the right time to make progress! the gearbox is slick and easy to use. steering very light when manoeuvring, bit feels a little 'detatched' at speed. The clio has plenty of grip and handles rather well.

    What's it like to park?

visablility isn't great, and the b-pillars and c-pillars are chunky. shape of the rear makes it impossible to see curbs. however, it is compact and the light steering makes parking easy.

loose electrical connections under passenger seat caused a light to illuminate on the instrument panel. Passenger side electric window regulator unreliable.

for a small supermini, it has a reasonably large boot and better rear legroom than most.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

car fitted with a sound system with six speakers as standard.
