What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 68 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

From the frugal engine line-up, shrewd buyers should pay particular attention to the fuel sipping dCi 86 engine, which returns around 63mpg. Insurance groupings are affordable and road tax is cheap thanks to low emissions.
All engines but the automatic 1.6-litre petrol unit emit less than 140g/km CO2 and return over 47mpg. Eco-friendly buyers have two frugal diesels to choose between, with the dCi 86 the greenest choice overall, while some of Grand Modus’ interior components are made from recycled plastic.
Renault’s recent efforts to improve build quality and eradicate electrical niggles should pay off for Grand Modus owners. As a family car, cabin plastics and seat fabrics feel suitably durable and should withstand daily wear-and-tear.
