Renault Laguna running costs are fairly acceptable. It is competitively priced on the whole, although some features that you might expect as standard, such as floor mats, are restricted to the options list. Diesel engines are frugal, and insurance groups and servicing shouldn’t be very expensive. Depreciation will be very steep, though.

Renault Laguna emissions vary wildly depending on engine choice. The 1.5 dCi model offers the lowest carbon dioxide emissions in its class at 136g/km, while the more powerful diesels are a relatively low 158g/km. Fitting an automatic transmission as the only gearbox available with the 2.0-litre turbo sends CO2 emissions up to 210g/km, although there are no six-cylinder versions of the Laguna, which would have been higher still.

Renault Laguna reliability This is an area of concern for Renault in the past, and we are keen to see the results of the improvements the manufacturer has claimed it has made. Renault has also tried to offer increased peace of mind on the Laguna with a 100,000-mile warranty. There were numerous recalls on the previous Laguna and until we know more, we can only offer an average star rating.
