In their own words

I bought a 1.6VVT Gt line wind a couple of years ago - I fell in love with it when I first spotted it, I bought it blind - knowing nothing about Renault Winds - I hadn't even seen one before. When I saw it - it was love at first sight, the Wind has a certain presence - which like marmite you either love or you don't, I spent some money on it with daylight running lights and parking sensors. I soon knew that I wanted one of the limited edition jobs either a Collection or a Gordini both of which were limited to 200. Towards the end of last year I spotted a Gordini with only 8,800 miles on the clock, I had to have it, so I went and did a deal. I bought it on my birthday! a present to myself. What do I love about the Wind? Its noisey, it isn't strictly a convertable, its not everso fast, it isn't inundatedf with driver comforts. It has style, it raises eyebrows, its quirkey, it brings a smile to peoples faces, its fun, and a conversation piece. Most people don't know who makes it, some don't care - I love it, in fact its probably my favourite car of all the ones I've owned. The boot is a real tardis and you can get an extraordainary amount of gear in it, the roof raises and lowers in seconds, yes its only a two seater, but that adds to its appeal. On this snowy day in March I can only dream of summer drives with the roof off, lazy days spent by the beach people watching, chilling seeing sunsets. The Wind has this feel good factor and I think thats why the majority of people buy them - there's always plenty for sale so go on lash yourself up to what I'm sure will become a timeless classic. In my mind there's no such thing as the 'perfect car' there is something wrong or you can find something wrong with any car. You need vision to spot what floats your boat and why it floats it - the Wind does all that and more for me French or not wonderful or not, I'd have another one tomorrow.
