SEAT Ateca SUV 1.4 TSI SE 5d Owner Review

1.4 TSI SE 5d
SEAT Ateca review (2024)

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

It's a good looking car with a great 1.4 turbo engine but it can catch you out sometimes as nothing happens below 1500 rpm, had occasional problems when exiting a junction when car " stalled " , applied brakes, restarted and carried on, or you can wheelspin away and wear tyres out .High enough driving position without being too high to get in to and enough room inside though not keen on fabric for seats which looks " low rent ". Ride is ok but obviously suspension is a bit firm as is usual for a taller vehicle so can be crashy over potholes. Boot lid can be a nuisance to close unless you get the action spot on. As stated previously the Front Assist light keeps coming on for no reason, sometimes just rain, with no fix apparent, and though it does not cause any problems it is annoying . Overall I preferred my previous Kia Sportage.

How reliable do you find the car?

The Front Assist warnlng light comes on frequently for no reason, sometimes just if it rains, goes off eventually or if you stop and restart, no fix available . The boot lid occasionally is difficult to close

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

The 1.4 turbo engine is surprisingly fast, but nothing happens below 1500 rpm so it can be sluggish away from junctions, or spin tyres. Auto may suit the engine better.
