What does this car say about you?

Not a lot. I have given up status cars and this works well for our current needs. It still looks good for its age.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Absolutely no idea.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No - I would like something a little quirkier.

What are you likely to buy next?

I would probably go back to old Mercedes like the 190.

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,500

When did you buy the car?

    August 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

It was family so a fair price was paid.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Our 2nd car had been stolen and our son-in-law needed to sell the Seat.

    What was the dealer like?

    What's it like to drive?

Front seats are quite comfortable for longer journeys. No driving quirks. Not at all sporty, but that can't be expected from 60bhp, but performs well overall. Happy to cruise at 75-80 on motorways and is still economical.

    What's it like to park?

    Easy

Have you had any problems with the car?

Last year I replaced the cambelt and water pump, then had the head taken off to find the cause of an intermittent firing problem - one exhaust valve was replaced and another re-seated. Engine now as new and far more economical.

What's most practical about your car?

It is a good, utilitarian, everyday car. OK with 4 adults but would like a larger boot - rear seats split and fold to help with larger loads. Now averaging 45mpg after work on the head.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Air-con.
